Career Guidance, Placements & Student Progression
The College facilitates career guidance, professional orientation, higher education awareness, and placement-related support for student-teachers through its Career Guidance and Placement Cell.
The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Government College of Education, Faridkot works to support student-teachers in their academic, professional, and career development. The Cell provides guidance regarding teaching opportunities, higher education, competitive examinations, eligibility tests such as PSTET/CTET, school placements, and other professional avenues in the field of education. It also organizes orientation sessions, expert lectures, interaction with alumni, career awareness programmes, and maintains session-wise information regarding the progression and placement status of pass-out students.
Objectives of the Cell
- To provide career guidance to student-teachers.
- To orient students about teaching and allied career opportunities.
- To guide students regarding PSTET, CTET, NET, higher education, and competitive examinations.
- To organise career counselling sessions, workshops, and expert lectures.
- To maintain student progression and placement records.
- To connect students with schools, educational institutions, alumni, and professional bodies.
- To support students in resume preparation, interview skills, communication skills, and professional readiness.
