Description of Event
At Desh Bhagat Pandit Chetan Dev Government College of Education, Faridkot, under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Rajesh Mohan, the College Language Forum organized a literary tribute event titled "Birha Toon Sultan" on the occasion of the 52nd death anniversary of the renowned Punjabi poet Shiv Kumar Batalvi.Professor Birinderjeet Singh, patron of the College Language Forum, informed the press that celebrated poet Vijay Vivek was the chief guest, and Punjabi poet and critic Sukhjinder Singh was the keynote speaker at the event. The program was presided over by Principal Dr. Rajesh Mohan, who is also a noted musician.At the beginning of the event, the chief guest, keynote speaker, Principal, professors, and student office-bearers of the Language Forum paid floral tribute to the photograph of Shiv Kumar Batalvi. Prof. Sandeep Singh welcomed all attendees with an introductory speech, while Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur, in-charge of the Language Forum, stated that the students Isha Rani and Sukhchain Singh played an excellent role as stage anchors.Students of the Language Forum captivated the audience with performances dedicated to Shiv Kumar Batalvi, including songs, ghazals, poems, recitations, and speeches. Students from the Music Department of Government Brijindra College enhanced the ambiance by singing Batalviās compositions with musical accompaniment.At the end of the program, the chief guest, keynote speaker, and all participants were honored with books authored by Shiv Kumar Batalvi by the Principal and the Language Forum.Present at the occasion were Prof. Manju Kapoor, Dr. Rupinderjeet Kaur, Prof. Rajeshwari Devi, Prof. Jasbir Kaur, Prof. Fanny Chawla, Prof. Manvinder Kaur, Prof. Rimmy, librarian Poonam Rani, Karamjeet Kaur, and all students of the college.

Faculty of the college pay honour to the chief guest Vijay Vivek and Sukhjinder Singh. Books were distributed to the participating students.
