Description of Event

Desh Bhagat Pandit Chetan Dev Government College of Education Faridkot, under the able leadership of the College Principal Dr. Rajesh Mohan, under the orders of the Education Department, the students of the NSS department of the college celebrated the week under the topic of Ending Plastic Pollution Globally and organized various activities. The purpose of celebrating this week was to free the earth from single-use plastic. A seminar was organized during this week. On this occasion, Karamjit Singh Sran, founder of SEER an organization that has been doing excellent work for the cleanliness of the environment in Faridkot city for the last 20 years, District Resource Person, Education Department, Faridkot, explained in detail the disadvantages of using plastic and encouraged the students to not use plastic in their lives. In the second phase of the week, Prof. Manvinder Kaur told the students that today's students are our golden future of tomorrow. Therefore, the student community will have to first understand the challenges arising on the earth and then make efforts to solve it. She motivated the student community to understand the topic of ending plastic pollution globally and continuously do small and big works under it and made them take a pledge. As the week progressed, the students took out a rally with bundles of cloth bag in their hands, through which they gave the message that the earth should be free from single-use plastic first. During this week, various competitions were held on the relevant topics to make the students aware of the need to free the earth from plastic pollution. On the last day of this week, the MLA of the constituency Gurdit Singh Sekhon reached the college and inaugurated the Herbal Garden being prepared in the college. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Rajesh Mohan said that the purpose of celebrating this week in the true sense will be meaningful only when we make our daily lives free from plastic. In-charge of the Environment Club Prof. Karamjit Singh, Prof. Rajeshwari Devi and the college staff gave their support to celebrate the week.
